According to CoinMeta, the new browser extension Kaito Pulse by Kaito AI has raised concerns regarding privacy issues after source code review. Analyst Ultra pointed out that the software is capable of fingerprinting devices, tracking users' detailed activities on X, and accessing account data from multiple third-party platforms when users initiate verification. Ultra discovered that Kaito Pulse records user activities through various data collection methods, especially information related to the use of X. This extension logs a large amount of information while users browse X, including the visibility timing of each post on the timeline, clicks, follows, unfollows, searches, and bookmarks, among others. Launched on August 18th, the extension aims to directly incorporate users' activities outside of the platform into the timeline on X. It also introduces Aura, a metric designed to combine users' online statements with verifiable behaviors. Kaito states in the description of the Chrome online store that the collected data will not be sold to third parties and will not be used for purposes unrelated to the main functions of the extension.
