According to CoinMeta, affected by the impact of oil prices and the economic recession triggered by conflicts in the Middle East, foreign capital inflows into major Asian bond markets reached a four-month low in July. Data from regulatory authorities and bond market associations show that foreign investors made a net purchase of $2.03 billion in the local bond markets of India, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand, marking the lowest monthly net purchase volume since March. Despite the ongoing demand from foreign investors for emerging market debt on a global scale, capital inflows into Asian bond markets have slowed down. Data from the International Finance Association indicates that investors injected $26.7 billion into emerging market debt in July, while there was a capital outflow of $7.8 billion from emerging market stocks. As many Asian economies are vulnerable to rising energy costs, the attractiveness of Asian markets has diminished.
