US SEC New Regulations May Reshape the Financing Methods of Crypto Projects
2026-08-19 05:21:33
According to CoinMeta, as reported by Coin Bureau, the new crypto regulations proposed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could reshape the way crypto projects raise funds in the United States. Under the proposal, projects would be able to raise up to $5 million at a time with only basic disclosures required. Larger projects that need full registration would be able to raise up to $75 million per year, but would have to provide financial statements and ongoing reports. Once a team completes or permanently abandons the work they committed to, the tokens would legally cease to be considered securities. The state registration rules, which include certain secondary market transactions, would be given priority. This regulation has now entered a 60-day public comment period.
