Encrypted payment card expenditures soared to $759 million in July

According to CoinMeta, as reported by a16z and crypto, crypto payment card expenditures in July increased by 2.5 times compared to the same period last year, reaching $759 million, mainly through nearly 9 million transactions involving US-dollar-backed stablecoins. Data from payment monitoring firm Paymentscan shows that since tracking the market began in October 2023, the monthly total has risen from less than $1 million to over $759 million. The number of card purchases in July also increased, rising from about 5.2 million in the same period last year to nearly 9 million. USDC accounted for approximately 58% of crypto payment card expenditures in July, while USDT accounted for about 26%.
