Saudi Arabia strengthens regulation on transfers to banks in the United Arab Emirates
2026-08-18 18:31:09
According to CoinMeta, Saudi Arabia has implemented additional regulations on financial transfers to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), measures that are typically targeted at countries considered to have a high risk of illegal capital flows. This indicates that the rift between Saudi Arabia and the UAE is widening. Although these measures have not been publicly announced, some companies have reported difficulties in transferring funds from Saudi accounts to UAE accounts. Business insiders say that their company's transfers in different currencies have been delayed or returned by Saudi banks without any official explanation. In response, the Saudi Central Bank stated, "There are currently no direct restrictions targeting specific countries."
