OpenAI goes live; Computer History, ChatGPT no longer relies on screenshots to remember user operations
2026-08-18 17:38:30
According to CoinMeta, OpenAI recently introduced the Computer History feature, which replaces the previous Chronicle. This feature allows ChatGPT to record users' operations on their computers, including clicks, inputs, shortcut key usage, and application switching. Users can review their previous actions by consulting this history. OpenAI indicates that, compared to Chronicle, the new solution consumes less of token. In addition, Google is also exploring the collection of user data, including images and files uploaded through its services; some of this data may be retained for up to 4 years even after being decoupled from the account.
