2026-08-18 13:27:52
According to CoinMeta, Ethereum's competitor Monad offered early investors the opportunity to cash out for up to $60 million in cash, but almost all of the investors contacted declined it. The Monad Foundation stated that they have completed a plan to purchase locked MON tokens from some early investors at a discounted price, with a budget of up to $60 million set aside for this purpose. The foundation did not disclose the specific offer price, the final amount spent, or the number of investors involved. The aim of this plan was to provide liquidity for early investors while maintaining the long-term commitment of the remaining holders. Currently, the market value of MON tokens is approximately $250 million, with a circulation of about 11.8 billion tokens. According to DefiLlama's data, the funds based on Monad's decentralized financial applications have grown from approximately $360 million on July 2nd to about $895 million, representing an increase of nearly 150%.
