Core Scientific Completes Acquisition of Polaris DS for Approximately $444 Million in Cash

According to CoinMeta, Wu said that the 8-K filing submitted by Core Scientific shows that the company completed the acquisition of Polaris DS LLC on August 13 for a cash consideration of approximately $444.3 million, and may pay an additional up to $40 million depending on additional 40 MW power availability conditions. Following the acquisition, Polaris DS became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Core Scientific. Polaris DS previously owned the site adjacent to Core Scientific's data center in Oklahoma, Muskogee, as well as up to about 440 MW of related power resources, which will be used to support the company's further expansion of its AI / HPC data center operations.
