The Fed's decision to pause interest rate hikes is the right one, says Goldman Sachs' Kaplan

According to CoinMeta, Robert Kaplan, Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs, supports the Federal Reserve's decision on July 9-3, believing that policymakers need more time to assess inflation. He pointed out that despite ongoing inflationary pressures and voting divisions, the pause in July was the correct decision. Kaplan suggests that before the September meeting, policymakers should use the remaining time to determine whether inflation has improved in order to decide whether to pause interest rate hikes again. The latest data shows that consumer prices rose by 0.1% in July, with an annual increase of 3.4%. Kaplan also mentioned that investments in artificial intelligence are increasing demand for energy, construction materials, and skilled workers, which may have an impact on inflation.
