According to CoinMeta, Anthropic is preparing for a potentially record-breaking IPO and is holding preliminary communication meetings with potential investors. Sources familiar with the matter indicate that the discussions are still at a macro level and have not yet covered specific financial data or valuation discussions. Krishna Rao, the chief financial officer of Anthropic, is leading these meetings, which mainly focus on the Claude series of AI models, the programming assistant Claude Code, the company's market positioning, the management team, and product iteration, among other topics. The company secretly submitted its listing documents to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in June but has not yet announced an official IPO timeline. Anthropic completed financing at the end of May this year, with a valuation of $965 billion, which is higher than the $852 billion valuation of companies in the same period. The company has disclosed that its annualized revenue operating rate has exceeded $47 billion. Some investors expect its IPO valuation to reach $2 trillion, but this figure is not an official company goal. On the competitive front, OpenAI has also secretly submitted its listing documents but has not yet initiated any pre-investor meetings.
