MoneyGram launches cash exchange service on Solana, ending the exclusive period of Stellar

According to CoinMeta, MoneyGram launched its cash conversion service on Solana on August 11, ending its monopoly on Stellar. This move provides a single platform for wallets, exchanges, and developers on the Solana network to facilitate the conversion between cash and digital assets. Rift became the first wallet to integrate this service. This integration eliminates the need for applications to bridge assets through other chains when accessing the MoneyGram retail network, simplifying the user experience. After users deliver local currency at MoneyGram physical stores, MoneyGram will perform identity verification and deposit an equivalent amount of stablecoins into the users' Solana wallets. Users can send stablecoins through the Solana application and withdraw the corresponding cash at participating agent locations. This service is suitable for scenarios such as remittances, cross-border payments, and stablecoin salaries. MoneyGram also began operating verification nodes on Solana on June 22, further solidifying its role in the network infrastructure.
