According to CoinMeta, the strong rise in South Korea's stock market drove the equities of emerging markets higher on Thursday, and the global resurgence in artificial intelligence trading pushed the Seoul KOSPI index into a technical bull market. Jefferies strategist Mohit Kumar stated in a report: "We remain comfortable with our overweight position in the artificial intelligence sector; the earnings season has been strong, and there are no signs of a slowdown in capital expenditure." The KOSPI index rose 3.2% on Thursday, with a cumulative increase of about 22% since its low point on July 30th. Heavyweight stocks such as memory chip manufacturer Samsung Electronics and SK SK Hynix led the gains, both rising by about 5%. Kumar noted that geopolitics remains a focal point, with the Strait of Hormuz still closed. If the deadlock continues for a few more weeks, the market should be able to absorb it well, but if it persists for months rather than weeks, the market will need to reprice.
