Turkish Central Bank raises inflation forecast to 28% by the end of the year

According to CoinMeta, Turkish Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan announced at a press conference held in Istanbul on Thursday that the inflation forecast for the end of this year has been raised from 26% to 28%, bringing it closer to market expectations. Market surveys indicate that the annual inflation rate in Turkey is expected to reach 29% by the end of the year. Karahan stated that the geopolitical uncertainties caused by the Iran war, as well as fluctuations in energy and food prices, have prompted the central bank to raise its inflation forecast.
