According to CoinMeta, Future Asset Group announced that it will inject 50 billion Korean won (approximately $35 million) into the operating company of the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Korbit after acquiring Korbit. The board of directors of Digital X approved this capital increase on August 12, and the payment is expected to be made on August 27. Digital X will issue 10,078,614 ordinary shares through a third-party placement at a price of 4,961 Korean won per share. All the new shares will belong to Future Asset Consulting, which already holds 97.15% of the shares. This capital injection is aimed at improving Digital X's financial structure and meeting its management capital needs. This investment follows Future Asset Consulting's acquisition of Korbit in July; initially, Future Asset agreed to acquire 92.06% of the shares for about 133.48 billion Korean won, and subsequently purchased additional shares, with a total acquisition cost of approximately 14.14 billion Korean won. The South Korean Fair Trade Commission approved this merger on July 9, stating that it would not substantially restrict competition. This capital injection provides Future Asset with more investment opportunities while also improving its financial condition.
