Bitcoin's next soft fork faces challenges, BIP-54 proposal has been completed

According to CoinMeta, following the failure of BIP-110, Bitcoin developers have completed a security cleanup proposal known as BIP-54. However, obtaining sufficient support to activate this proposal may be more difficult than writing the code itself. BIP-54, officially referred to as "consensus cleanup," will make four narrow modifications to Bitcoin's core rules, aimed at fixing old vulnerabilities and unusual edge cases, rather than adding new features.
