The chief energy advisor of Gulf Oil, Tom Kloza, pointed out that recent drone attacks have had an unprecedented impact on global oil infrastructure, further tightening the refined products market. U.S. diesel exports have surged, and fuel surcharges are causing transporters to face losses. The latest data shows that the U.S. exported nearly 2 million barrels of diesel last week, setting a record, while domestic consumption is close to 3.5 million barrels per day. Kloza warns that drone attacks have become a permanent feature of the energy security landscape, with a global shortage of refined capacity of 7 to 9 million barrels per day, threatening market stability.
