According to CoinMeta, as reported by Cointelegraph, the Bitcoin Policy Institute ( BPI ) in conjunction with Anchorage Digital, BitGo, Bitwise, Blockstream, Kraken, Ledger, Mara, Trezor and other crypto organizations have issued an open letter urging AI laboratories to expand their trusted access programs for Bitcoin and open-source software developers. The letter points out that open-source maintainers such as Bitcoin Core lack access to the network security procedures of AI laboratories and are forced to rely on less capable open-source models. However, the Bitcoin network protects over one trillion dollars in assets, and vulnerabilities in open-source infrastructure pose a threat to users' savings. The Bitcoin Policy Institute ( BPI ) has revealed that multiple reports indicate that sophisticated attackers are leveraging advanced AI capabilities to launch attacks.
