Bitcoin whales accelerate their holdings, and exchange trading volume drops by over 50%

According to CoinMeta, as exchange liquidity dries up, Bitcoin whales are accelerating their purchases. Trading activity on major platforms has seen a significant year-over-year decline, with some platforms experiencing a decrease of over 50% in trading volume. Analyst Borisd noted that the decline in trading activity reflects a shift in market sentiment from optimistic to bearish, while analyst Theophiluspep pointed out that the buying momentum of Bitcoin whales is exceptionally strong. Despite Bitcoin prices remaining above $60,000, trading volumes have shrunk to levels typically associated with long-term consolidation. Wallets holding more than 10,000 Bitcoins have accumulated an additional 46,420 Bitcoins over the past 60 days, setting a new record for purchases since March 15th. Meanwhile, small wallets holding 0.1 to 1 Bitcoin sold approximately 9,700 Bitcoins during the same period. The continuous buying by large holders can absorb market selling pressure and reduce the number of Bitcoins available for sale, especially in the context of overall weak trading activity.
