According to CoinMeta, FlightAware has voluntarily withdrawn its lawsuit against prediction market operator Kalshi, bringing to an end the legal action initiated just a day ago over allegations of improper use of its flight data and trademarks by Kalshi. As per documents filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District on Tuesday, FlightAware withdrew the legal action it had taken against Kalshi on Monday, thus concluding that case. FlightAware had also requested a temporary restraining order to prohibit Kalshi from conducting any activities related to FlightAware during the dispute resolution period, but this request was not pursued after the withdrawal of the lawsuit. FlightAware did not publicly explain in the submitted documents why it withdrew the lawsuit so quickly. Legal experts suggest that such a rapid withdrawal may indicate that both parties reached a private settlement. Subsequently, Kalshi changed the wording on its market page, now stating that the information “comes from major source institutions” and provided a link to FlightAware's website.
