According to CoinMeta, Manus has announced that it will become independent again in less than 8 months after being acquired by Meta, resuming its independent operations. Data of users in certain regions will be migrated after December 29, 2025. Users are required to back up their data before August 23, and no fees will be charged during the backup period. Affected users will have their accounts suspended from August 23 to 24 and will not be able to access Manus. The official emphasized that this move is not a security incident but rather part of meeting regulatory requirements in certain regions. Manus 2.0 has been developed and is planned to be launched after complete separation from Meta.
