MoneyGram Launches Solana Cash Channels in Over 170 Markets
2026-08-12 12:15:31
According to CoinMeta, on August 11th, MoneyGram launched a cash channel called Solana, which allows wallets, exchanges, and developers to access its cash network through a single API. This service supports cash deposits in over 25 countries and cash withdrawals in more than 170 countries. Rift is the first wallet to integrate this service. This launch builds upon MoneyGram's role as a Solana validator in June, further expanding the relationship with Solana. MoneyGram indicates that developers can obtain API credentials and integrate software development kits without having to establish separate bank connections. Solana has embedded the cash channel into its development platform's payment module, enabling applications to connect on-chain activities with MoneyGram's real-world cash network. MoneyGram's network serves over 60 million customers and covers nearly 500,000 retail locations. The current cash channel page describes the process for customers using USDC; users can add cash to their cryptocurrency wallets at participating locations or convert USDC to cash.
