According to CoinMeta, Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra stated on Tuesday that Indian banks need to accelerate the adoption of AI by investing in technology and infrastructure, as well as training employees to enhance their skills. However, he warned that broader use of AI also carries risks, including decision-making biases, opaque decision-making, and threats to data privacy and network security. He added that if banks rely on a few select AI models or technology providers, it may expose the entire banking system to related risks. Therefore, banks should remain vigilant when relying on external suppliers.
