US Stocks Today: S&P 500 and Dow Jones near record highs, oil prices rise

According to CoinMeta, at the opening of today's U.S. stock market, the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average approached their historical highs as investors dealt with a significant week involving rising oil prices, increasing Treasury yields, and U.S. inflation data. The Dow Jones rose by 35.7 points, or 0.07%, to 54,072.66 points; the S&P 500 fell slightly by 0.08% to 7,751.74 points; and the Nasdaq Composite Index also declined by 0.04% to 26,680.44 points. JPMorgan has raised its year-end target for the S&P 500 in 2026 to 8,000 points, expecting corporate earnings to drive revenue growth.
