T. Rowe Price: Defending the inclusion of Dogecoin in active management of encrypted ETF

According to CoinMeta, T. Rowe Price recently defended its decision to include Doge Coin ($DOGE) in its newly launched actively managed cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund (ETF), stating that this selection is based on a rigorous investment strategy rather than speculative behavior driven by internet trends. Launched in July, this fund (TKNZ) is the first actively managed multi-token spot cryptocurrency fund in the United States, with Doge Coin accounting for 1.26% of its portfolio. Bitcoin ($BTC) and Ethereum ($ETH) make up approximately 60% of the fund's assets, followed by Binance Coin ($BNB). Lan Marchellari, the head of digital assets at T. Rowe Price, stated that excluding the performing meme coin would prevent investors from accessing potential returns. The fund actively selects 5 to 15 digital assets by utilizing fundamental research, token economics, ecosystem growth, and market momentum. The management fee for this fund is 0.75%, and fee reductions are in place until May 2027.
