According to CoinMeta, Microsoft is in early talks with Anthropic regarding the rental of its self-developed AI chip Maia to obtain additional computing power support. If an agreement is reached, Anthropic will become a major customer for Microsoft's Maia 200 chips. Microsoft deployed Maia 200 in its Azure cloud data centers in January 2026, mainly to reduce the operating costs of Copilot intelligents. In addition, Microsoft plans to produce over 300,000 Maia 300 chips in 2027, with a ultimate goal of exceeding 1 million. This chip will further optimize operating costs, and it is expected that the Maia 300 will be released in September.
