Economists raise South Korea's economic growth forecast to 3.3%

According to CoinMeta, due to strong global demand for semiconductors, South Korean economists have further raised their economic growth forecasts for 2026, anticipating a growth rate of 3.3%, up from 2.8% in the survey conducted in July. Respondents also slightly increased their growth projections for the coming years, expecting 2.3% growth in 2027 and 2.1% growth in 2028. As the artificial intelligence boom drives economic growth, economists and policymakers are constantly adjusting their forecasts to keep up with the actual growth momentum. This survey's forecast for 2026 is higher than the 3% growth expectation announced by the South Korean government last month. Previously, South Korea's economy performed strongly in the second quarter, which led the government to believe that the South Korean economy is on track to achieve 3% growth in 2026.
