Rob Hamilton: Due to restricted access to OpenAI, switching to the Chinese open-source AI model
2026-08-10 14:22:06
According to CoinMeta, as reported by Cointelegraph, AnchorWatch CEO and the founder of the Bitcoin Red Team, Rob Hamilton, stated that after integrating the trust and network security capabilities of OpenAI into the Bitcoin Red Team's security research, they encountered access restrictions and were forced to switch to a Chinese open-source AI model. The Bitcoin Red Team has identified 1,288 critical and high-risk vulnerabilities in the Bitcoin ecosystem, and their research efforts accelerated after the Coldcard hardware wallet was hacked (resulting in the theft of over $100 million in Bitcoin). Rob Hamilton noted that black hat hackers are not restricted, while white hat researchers who are committed to reducing risks are excluded from such efforts.
