BIP-110 Minority Chain Stalls, Developers Discuss Replacing with PoW Algorithm

According to CoinMeta, as reported by bitcoin.com, the BIP-110 minority chain has been stagnant since its fork on August 8th due to insufficient computing power. This chain has inherited Bitcoin’s mining difficulty of 127.48 trillion, but it has only attracted a very small amount of SHA-256 D-computing power. The author Dathon Ohm and the maintainers Bitcoin Knots and Luke Dashjr discussed on the Discord channel the possibility of changing the PoW algorithm to reduce dependence on miners. Candidates for the new algorithm include RandomX, Blake3, Scrypt, Autolykos V2, etc. As of now, no PoW change plan has been officially activated, and the minority chain remains in a stagnant state. In addition, developer Murch has proposed to remove Luke Dashjr from the BIP mailing list, but Luke Dashjr denies this claim.
