Ledger Issues a Security Warning Regarding the Potential Fork of BIP-110

According to CoinMeta, Wu said that a hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has issued a security warning regarding the potential fork of BIP-110. It is stated that BIP-110 is a Bitcoin soft fork scheme that does not have built-in replay protection. If an independent chain is formed, holders of BTC may receive the same amount of corresponding assets on the new chain, but both chains may initially accept transactions with the same signatures. If users attempt to transfer or sell assets on the BIP-110 chain, such transactions could be replayed onto the Bitcoin main chain, resulting in the corresponding BTC assets being transferred out as well. Ledger indicated that their devices are technically capable of signing such transactions, but it is recommended not to claim or operate with the forked coins BIP-110 until a replay protection mechanism is implemented.
