Circle introduces native USDC and CCTP into OKX's X Layer
2026-08-08 05:45:28
According to CoinMeta, Circle has announced the introduction of its native USDC and cross-chain transfer protocol CCTP into OKX's X Layer, further enhancing its role in payments, DeFi, and cross-chain transactions. This integration allows X Layer to directly access dollars issued by Circle and provides a native pathway for moving liquidity between supported networks. Circle states that the native USDC is backed by highly liquid cash and cash equivalents, and can be exchanged for dollars at a 1:1 ratio through the supported channels. The integration also enables the transfer of native USDC between supported blockchains through a process of burning and minting, simplifying cross-chain operations. The CCTP of Circle is freely integrable by developers, and standard transfers are not subject to any protocol fees.
