According to CoinMeta, Google's new model is expected to be released on August 10th. A whistleblower blogger claims that Google may launch the new model on that date. Initially, the release was scheduled for August 12th, but the date was later changed to August 10th just a few hours later. Google had previously stated in May that the new model would be launched in June, but that was postponed. On July 21st, Google mentioned that the model was still being tested with partners and would be made available as soon as it was ready. The delay is related to programming capabilities not meeting internal targets. It is also speculated that the new model will be quite powerful overall, but it may not significantly surpass previous models such as Anthropic and OpenAI.
