According to CoinMeta, as reported by the Singapore Business Times, Three Arrows Capital has sued the wife of founder Zhu Su, Evelyn Tao, seeking to recover approximately $40 million from the sale of a property in Dubai. The property was purchased for 110 million Dubai dirhams, with funds coming from a $50 million cryptocurrency loan provided by Three Arrows Capital to Zhu. The transaction occurred three weeks before the fund entered liquidation in June 2022. Zhu transferred ownership of the property to Evelyn Tao while serving time in Changi Prison in October 2023, and the liquidators believe this move was intended to shield the property and its proceeds from creditors. Evelyn Tao denies knowledge of the source of the funds, claims that the property was a gift, and states that the couple had separated in 2022, signing a formal separation agreement in January 2024.
