According to CoinMeta, the police forces of Hong Kong and Macau carried out a cross-border joint law enforcement operation codenamed “Jun Li” from August 1st to 3rd, resulting in the detection of a virtual currency fraud case and the arrest of 8 individuals. Among them, the Hong Kong police arrested 1 man and 5 women on charges of conspiracy to commit fraud, while the Macau Judicial Police Bureau arrested 2 women for aggravated fraud. As of August 3rd, the Hong Kong police had received 225 reports of incidents involving losses of approximately 94 million Hong Kong dollars, and the Macau police had received 9 reports with losses amounting to about 3.6 million Macau patacas, totaling over 97 million yuan in involved funds.
