Wells Fargo: The AI investment boom will spill over and drive up traditional industrial stocks

According to CoinMeta, Wells Fargo strategist Ohsung Kwon stated that as the investment boom in AI spreads, traditional industrial stocks will benefit from the increasing construction of data centers. He pointed out that companies that produce machinery, equipment, and tools used for building data centers are among the stocks "most closely aligned with the concept of artificial intelligence." Wells Fargo estimates that manufacturing activity expanded at its fastest pace in over four years in July, with non-artificial intelligence-related capital expenditures growing by 10% compared to the same period last year. In addition, growth in commercial and industrial loans has also accelerated. In recent months, traders have begun to favor the "traditional economy" sector, driving industrial stocks up 20% this year, with their gains only lagging behind those in the energy and information technology sectors. Kwon estimates that there are currently about 40 new hyperscale data centers under construction, with another 100 or more in the planning stage, mainly located in Texas, Georgia, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He said that if the economic benefits from regions where data centers that are already in operation are indeed becoming a new trend, then we are currently in a very early stage of this spillover effect.
