Nigeria Securities and Exchange Commission Approves Tokenized Stock Trading

According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Bloomberg, the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission has approved companies to issue and trade tokenized versions of traditional stocks through the country's over-the-counter exchange NASD OTC Securities Exchange. The related services are scheduled to be launched at the beginning of September. NASD will collaborate with Canadian blockchain infrastructure company Blockstation, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises with limited financing channels, and plans to gradually cover assets such as bonds, private market instruments, real estate, and structured investments.
