According to CoinMeta, Apple has recently filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and its hardware director Tang Tan, as well as former Apple engineer Chang Liu, accusing the three of systematically stealing Apple's trade secrets for the purpose of developing OpenAI's own hardware. Apple claims that OpenAI encouraged Apple employees to provide information about unreleased products, parts, and design drawings during interviews, and directed those planning to switch jobs to conceal their whereabouts in order to prevent Apple from revoking their internal access rights in advance. Chang Liu joined OpenAI in January of this year, and Apple accuses him of downloading dozens of confidential files before leaving the company, including information on unreleased products and technical specifications. Apple also pointed out that employees were still able to receive updates to confidential files through their personal iCloud accounts after leaving the company. OpenAI denies the allegations, while Apple emphasizes that the lawsuit is aimed at intentional theft of secrets.
