Japan's new round of foreign exchange rescue efforts may have cost $87 billion

According to CoinMeta, the Japanese side stated that in order to support the yen exchange rate, the Bank of Japan may have utilized approximately $87 billion, which is equivalent to 11 trillion yen, in the latest round of foreign exchange intervention measures. Based on the latest money market data from the Bank of Japan, it is likely that the bank used $53 billion and $34 billion on July 30th and 31st respectively, for a total of $87 billion, to buy yen in an effort to support the yen exchange rate.
