South Korea raises the margin requirement for single shares of ETF; trading volume of related products drops to one-tenth

According to CoinMeta, and based on AiCoin data, Korean exchange figures show that in the Korean KOSPI market, there were 16 individual stock leveraged and inverse ETF products related to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Within two trading days after the new measures were implemented, the total trading volume amounted to 1.2388 trillion Korean won, which is a 58.6% decrease from 2.9907 trillion Korean won on July 31. Compared to the trading volume of 12.4485 trillion Korean won on July 30, the current trading scale of these related products has dropped to about one-tenth. Retail investors' trading volume on these individual stock leveraged and inverse products has also decreased to 250.7 billion Korean won, which is less than one-quarter of the 929.9 billion Korean won on July 31. Korean regulatory authorities have raised the minimum cash margin requirement for individual stock leveraged ETF investors from 10 million Korean won to 30 million Korean won.
