According to CoinMeta, and as reported by South Korea's "Central Daily," Kim Yong-ban, the head of the Policy Office of the South Korean President's Office, has been accused of abusing his authority, coercion, and obstruction of business for allegedly promoting the listing of leveraged products ETF linked to a single semiconductor stock. Relevant criminal complaints have been officially submitted. These leveraged products ETF are believed to have exacerbated market volatility and caused investors to suffer losses of several billion dollars. Lee Jong-pyei, a conservative former Seoul city council member supported by the opposition National Power Party, stated that he has filed a criminal complaint against Kim Yong-ban through the government's online petition system with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, claiming that Kim Yong-ban instructed financial regulatory authorities to consider launching leveraged products ETF linked to a single chip stock. Lee Jong-pyei also claimed that the South Korean Financial Services Commission has been reviewing a plan since January aimed at establishing the necessary regulatory framework in the second quarter, with the intention of launching these products in the second half of the year.
