CLARITY Legislation Faces a Deadline on Wednesday, Voting to Take Place on Friday
2026-08-03 12:11:19
According to CoinMeta, the CLARITY bill is absent from the schedule of the U.S. Senate, leaving legislators with only a few days to initiate proceedings before the summer recess. The official schedule on Monday listed only one vote regarding H.R.6500, without any plans for action on H.R.3633 (the digital asset market CLARITY bill). Although its absence does not officially prevent legislation on the crypto market structure, it means that there is no publicly confirmed schedule for the proceedings. The CLARITY bill is also absent from the Monday schedule, facing a critical 72-hour window. The usual rules of the Senate require the signatures of 16 senators to propose a recess motion; if submitted on Wednesday, a vote might take place on Friday. Even if the vote is successful, it would merely mark the beginning of the proceedings, and further consideration of the bill will require more time.
