OPEC+ slightly increases production quotas, fully offsetting the production cuts for 2023

According to CoinMeta, OPEC+ agreed to increase its oil production quota by 188,000 barrels per day in September, which means that the production cuts made in 2023 have been nominally completely offset. Although supply in the Middle East is still constrained by conflicts, the organization continues to raise quotas each month. After the increase in September, OPEC+ plans to maintain a stable production level for the rest of this year. This increase is currently still symbolic, but once oil flows in the Persian Gulf return to normal, it may leave room for Saudi Arabia to increase production, which could help replenish global inventories that have depleted. The supply tensions caused by conflicts are driving up the cost of fuels such as gasoline and diesel, exacerbating market concerns about another surge in inflation. The organization will continue to hold meetings on a monthly basis, with the next meeting scheduled for September 6th.
