According to CoinMeta, the Coldcard hardware wallet recently encountered a security incident, which led investors to transfer their Bitcoin back to exchanges. This incident raised doubts about the security of self-stored assets. On July 31st, the daily Bitcoin deposit volume on the exchange surged to 7300 BTC in transactions worth less than 10 BTC, reaching the highest level since February 6th. Analyst Julio Moreno pointed out that, amid extreme caution, investors moved their Bitcoin to exchanges in search of safety. The losses associated with this incident are estimated to be between 1000 and 1300 BTC, which is approximately 70 to 90 million US dollars.
