According to CoinMeta, Google has launched Science One, a system that enables AI to conduct scientific research automatically while preserving complete evidence. This system is capable of searching for papers, designing experiments, executing experiments, and writing papers. Science One binds each conclusion with its source, code, and experimental records to ensure the accuracy of the evidence. Google used the same Gemini 3.1 Pro for five systems, which resulted in the writing of 75 papers across five tasks. All 337 citations generated were authentic, the results of 12 experiments that could be replicated were consistent, and 14 out of 15 papers matched the actual code. The highest rate of fabricated citations among other systems reached 20.9%.
