According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, Google is supporting a $15 billion financing plan to build data centers related to Anthropic in Texas. This move continues the boom in artificial intelligence infrastructure and promotes the transition of Bitcoin miners to high-performance computing. A group of banks led by Morgan Stanley is discussing financing for the Nexus data center at the planned campus in Hubbard in Texas. The financing plan includes a $14 billion bridge loan and a revolving credit facility. Google has agreed to guarantee billions of dollars in leasing and power payment obligations in the event of Anthropic. Google's support will apply to four data center leasing agreements and related power purchase agreements signed by Anthropic. Google is expected to receive approximately 20% of the equity. The Nexus plan pairs the data centers with a natural gas power plant with a generating capacity of 1.6GW.
