Crypto for Advisors : Clarity Act may face difficulties
2026-07-30 23:09:22
According to CoinMeta, Aaron Brogan analyzed the reasons why Clarity Act may not be able to meet industry demands. The "ethics" section of the bill has been widely controversial, as it prohibits certain federal officials from issuing cryptocurrency tokens during their tenure, a provision that has long been a cornerstone of the Democratic Party's crypto agenda. Due to President Trump's historical support for the issuance of cryptocurrency tokens, the passage of the bill faces challenges. Senate Majority Leader John Thune stated that the bill will not pass before September, and if Democrats win control of Congress, it is not expected that any such bill will be enacted before 2029. Nevertheless, Clarity Act still acknowledges that capital raising transactions can involve securities laws, and does not automatically classify the underlying tokens as securities. The success of the bill will depend on clear rules, coordinated regulatory agencies, and effective enforcement against fraud.
