According to CoinMeta, global stock markets rebounded on Thursday as U.S. inflation data in June met expectations, and Microsoft's financial report alleviated some concerns regarding spending on artificial intelligence (AI). At the same time, the long-term borrowing costs in the U.S. rose to their highest level since 2007, raising doubts about the Federal Reserve's commitment to controlling inflation. A report from the U.S. Department of Commerce showed that the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index fell by 0.1% in June, in line with economists' forecasts, at an annual rate of 3.7%. Tech-driven Nasdaq 100 futures rose by 1.51%, while S&P 500 and Dow Jones futures increased by 0.60% and 0.35% respectively. The market is at a delicate moment, with the stock prices of some major winners from the AI boom experiencing significant declines, causing concern among investors. South Korea's KOSPI index fell by 1.23%, closing in the red for the third consecutive day. The financial reports of Microsoft and Meta strengthened investors' expectations that AI initiatives are beginning to yield results. Microsoft's stock price rose by 9.02% in pre-market trading, with expectations that it will continue to generate cash flow throughout the fiscal year 2027; however, Meta's stock price plummeted by 10.2% due to the financial report reflecting its high AI investment pressures.
