According to CoinMeta, the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) has issued a restriction notice, freezing assets worth up to HK$125 million in the accounts of certain clients as part of an investigation into suspected manipulation of shares related to a Initial Public Offering (IPO). SFC stated that the brokerage firm itself is not subject to this investigation, and that the restriction notice will not affect the brokerage company or its other clients. This action is aimed at specific client accounts to prevent the transfer of assets during the investigation period. According to the notice, without written consent from the SFC, no one is allowed to dispose of, transfer, process, or otherwise deal with the assets in the affected client accounts. The issuance of this restriction notice is intended to protect the interests of investors and the public, and the investigation is still ongoing.
