U.S. 30-year Treasury yield hits a new high since 2008, what will be the future trend?
2026-07-30 19:10:48
According to CoinMeta, the yield on 30-year U.S. Treasury bonds has reached 5.201%, the highest level since July 2007, which coincides with the eve of the financial crisis in 2008. This surge in yields is due to the Federal Reserve's hawkish stance of maintaining interest rates unchanged. Inflation remains above the Fed's target of 2%, and a decrease in interest rates is not likely in the short term. Analysts expect that inflation in July 2026 may rise due to rising oil prices and the renewed escalation of tensions between the United States and Iran. Higher long-term yields will lead to increased borrowing costs for businesses, putting pressure on the valuations of growth stocks, and investors may be more inclined to choose safe-haven assets such as gold.
