2026-07-30 18:25:10
According to CoinMeta, the European Union launched tenders today with plans to establish up to 7 artificial intelligence superfactories across Europe. This is an important step in the EU's efforts to promote technological autonomy and realize its ambition of becoming a "continent of artificial intelligence." The initiative is led by the industry and is supported by funding of up to 10 billion euros from the EU and its member states, with an expected leverage of at least 20 billion euros in private investment throughout the EU. The plan will expand Europe's artificial intelligence computing capabilities and provide infrastructure for startups, growing enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, the industrial sector, academic institutions, and the public sector for training, inference, and fine-tuning advanced AI models. These superfactories will integrate advanced processors, software and cloud technology stacks, high-speed connection networks, and highly energy-efficient data centers, further strengthening Europe's leadership, resilience, and strategic autonomy in the field of technology.
