According to CoinMeta, the National Energy Administration revealed at a press conference held today that in the first half of this year, the total electricity consumption across society increased by 5.3% year-on-year. Among them, the electricity consumption of the charging and battery swapping service industry reached 81 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 56.9% year-on-year, and the electricity consumption of the internet data service industry reached 49.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 44% year-on-year. The rapid growth of these two industries contributed to a 0.9 percentage point increase in total electricity consumption across society, mainly driven by high-tech industries such as new energy vehicles and artificial intelligence.
